My last few knitting projects have been large blankets, so I needed some small projects to fly off the needles so I could have a sense of accomplishment! It’s also the middle of winter, so a cosy scarf (or two) was in order. Enter the ‘Easy Mistake Stitch Scarf’.

The scarf can be finished and worn as a loose scarf, or sew the ends together and you have yourself a cosy infinity scarf that can be looped twice around your neck.

Mistake Stitch is a great stitch for beginner knitters as it is just a repeating pattern of Knit and Purl stitches. It knits up to a loftier style of stitch than ‘normal’ rib stitch, so your scarf will be extra cosy and warm.

I have finished two scarves, and am onto my third.

The first was knitted using Morris & Sons 14 Ply Chunky yarn.

The second was knitted using Abbey Road Wool to be Wild yarn
