Swipe through to see the steps I took to create my latest greeting / Christmas card - ‘Merry Citrus’ 🍊.

1. This is the overhead look at the setup. I’ve used the ‘Rustic Wood’ background, and rolled it out onto my table. The props/subject are placed on top, ready to be photographed.
2. The photo is imported into Lightroom, and edited to increase clarity.
3. The image is cropped and added to my greeting card design.
4. The final product! The cards are printed, folded and ready for you to buy 😉.

So there you have it 🍊📸🌲

well hello there first hydrangeas of the season… (and cute little op-shop jug) 💚

in a recent-ish decision to grow what I love (think roses, dahlias, hydrangeas etc) I now have nine different hydies, with six all starting to bloom.

As it’s so hot in Barossa, they are all in pots so I can move them to shady areas when required. These ones however are in a wine barrel so I have to try and remember to pop a sheet over them on warm days 🤔 🥵.

These wee blooms got a little torched in the heat and aren’t quite the big full flowers I was hoping for, but hopefully there’s some of those still to come.

Ps. My fab hairdresser pointed out that I say hy-der-rangia, and now I have to correct myself every time I say it out loud 😂. How did I get to 55 and not realise this 🤪. Thanks Jas x

I have to admit I’m torn 😫.

Over the past few months I’ve been using Instagram differently. It’s been much more of a scroll by with the occasional checkin, but the reality is, a girl has to make a living…

So after a long break between ‘salesey’ posts, I need to get back on the horse.

One of the things I do to earn a quid is selling Photography Backgrounds / Backdrops.

Well, mid-November, because, you know. Life…

The paddocks are drying off. The days are getting longer. The colour of the landscape is changing.

Here in Barossa, it’s usually a month of gorgeous weather, but we sure could do with some rain.

Since July we’ve had only 105mm. And we’d normally have 245mm, so the garden is dry, really dry…

but if that means some headspacey time spent watering, I’m kind of OK with that at the moment….

There’s been a lot of mind-clearing, foot stompy

There’s been a lot of mind-clearing, foot stompy walks over the past few months, and many of them were undertaken through the streets and lanes of central Ballarat.

After the long, cold winter, it was so cheery to see spring flowers making an appearance. Gorgeous blooms like these Bankisa (or Lady Banks) rose.

These were spotted in mid-October down a back lane, and it was such a glorious sight, I just had to pause and take it in.
