This is no ordinary door. It’s a door that caugh

This is no ordinary door. It’s a door that caught my eye while driving through a country town, a door that I thought had potential.

So I stopped, snapped, and once home, tweaked the pic and had it printed up for use as a photography backdrop.

The peeling paint has helped produce a backdrop with depth and texture. And the rustic look is popular with content creators looking to create their own images for socials and website.

3, 2, 1… I’m counting down… to long weekend

3, 2, 1… I’m counting down…

to long weekends, swims, golden-warm evenings and dahlias. All the dahlias…

These three pretties are Café au Lait, grown in a pot last season.

Yesterday I planted the tiny tubers into their new garden bed, and now have my fingers crossed they do OK and produce some beautiful blooms again.

And yay, countdown to the long weekend is over, as now that it’s 3.30pm on a Friday, I reckon it’s here.

There is glorious weather forecast here, and I’m hoping to do a beach dash and get my first swim in…

3 ways to style biscuits/cookies 🍪

Here’s some tips on how to get the most out of your food photo shoot - by using different angles to shoot your pics.

Here’s some of my favourite angles/views:

🍪 Flatlay/overhead - include some ingredients, baking props & some fabrics for texture.
🍪 Bite - an opportunity to shoot at a different angle.
🍪 Stack - take straight on (mega-stacks always look great!).

Bonus tip:
🍪 when shooting, take a few images that leave negative space around the 🍪 . This allows you to add text if required (great for recipes, Pinterest, Insta Stories etc).

Is September the best month in the garden? It’s a big yes from me.

I garden in the Barossa, South Australia, which can get blisteringly hot in summer. So that first month of spring, when everything is green and bursting into life, is my favourite time of the year in the garden.

With bulbs, blossoms, sunny days and cool nights, there’s a lot to love.
